Opened in January 2019, the 942m Senegambia Bridge plays a crucial role in facilitating trade and travel between Senegal and the Gambia, as well as enhancing connectivity within the ECOWAS region through the Trans-West African Coastal Highway corridor. Africa Mobility Company is responsible for the management, operation and maintenance of the Trans-Gambia Bridge under a Concession Agreement
Located between Senegal and The Gambia, it serves as a crucial corridor for trade and transportation between Dakar and Lagos, fostering regional integration within ECOWAS.
Transgambia Bridge Company Ltd is a special purpose vehicle owned by Africa50 and the Government of The Gambia, established to hold the concession rights to collect tolls, operate and maintain the Senegambia Bridge as well as invest in any infrastructure required for smooth operations for a period of up to 25-years.
Transgambia Bridge Company Ltd (TBC Ltd) is a special purpose vehicle incorporated in The Gambia under the Companies Act 2013. TBC Ltd holds the exclusive concession rights to collect tolls, upgrade, operate, and maintain the Senegambia Bridge, along with investing in any necessary infrastructure to ensure smooth operations. The concession spans a 25-year period and was initiated as part of Africa50’s innovative Asset Recycling Programme. Through this programme, the Government of The Gambia unlocks capital tied up in state-owned infrastructure by transferring the rights to operate and manage these assets to credible private partners in exchange for fair compensation. TBC Ltd is a joint venture, with Africa50 owning 87.5% of the company, while the Government of The Gambia holds a 12.5% stake.
